Becky Coles

RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine

Becky joined the practice in 2016 after doing placement with us as a student for several years. Becky is from Dollar and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with distinction. Her main interests are exotics, particularly parrots, reptiles and amphibians. She has completed an RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice with the zoological medicine designation, having completed modules Exotic Avian species, Reptiles and Small mammals. Becky is also an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine.

During work, Becky enjoys looking after a small zoological collection in Glasgow including primates and unusual species. She has also just completed a certificate in feline medicine with the RCVS and still enjoys seeing cats and dogs in practice too.

Outside of work, Becky is one of the directors of the charity The Parrot Trust Scotland and looks after her own four parrots - Squash, Basil, Sunny and Sushi. She also has lots of other exotic pets including tortoises, geckos, dart frogs, tarantulas and a snake. Non animal related - Becky enjoys doing Yoga and swimming on her days off.
